I took a laptop up to Macxprts in Columbia to get it worked on. Its symptoms were really slow to boot from the HD. So I attempted to reload the HD. No go, put in a new HD into the Blackbook, no go, I actually tried 2 seperate HDD’s one of them brand new! No go.
So I take it to a supposed Mac service center. Explained the entire situation to him. And you know he didn’t listen to one word I told him. I knew he wasn’t because I got the typical tech “Hmmm um” as I talked. He booted off of a firewire drive and it worked great. I also did that. That was how I narrowed down to the SATA controller on the logic board. I am no software expert. Trust me, if I have to many problems that are not hardware related my first fix is a complete reload of software. But I am VERY good at hardware troubleshooting. I have always had a good mechanical head. I can and have listened to computers, smelled them and been able to tell you exactly what is going on. And what to fix. At At&T they called me the Human O-Scope.
Oh well, they will not listen to me. I can talk till I am blue in the face and never get my point across to them. Hopefully it will be a learning experience for the guy who is working on it. Its just to bad he will prolly have my computer for a little over 2 weeks. Which sucks for me since I REALLY need to sell it.
Is it because I am older, and seemingly come from a different school of thought about class etiquette, or am I just crazy?
But when did it become okay to just converse when class is in progress, or to argue with the teacher? I don’t get it. We are here to learn, and I pay for this out of my own pocket. For the love of God, Shut the Fuck Up!!!

You know what is cool? I am writing this post from my IPhone. But that isn’t the cool part. The cool part is I am at school controlling my new Mac Pro. Via Jaadu and writing this that way. That is cool!
So having the new HTPC with Itunes I discovered yesterday I can download all my shows that I watch from Itunes. The best part, is no commercials, and often you will get to see your show 24 hours in advance of everybody else. Plus you get HD and SD versions. So you can keep the HD version on your HTPC and take the SD version with you on your IPod, or Iphone.
So I did some calculating last night. I currently pay about $110 dollars a month on DirecTV and I have about 50 season passes being recorded, and probably actually about 30 active at any one time. That equates out to about $65 dollars a month. HMMMM Is there a reason I am still watching cable? Well I cant get ALL of my programming yet. And using Itunes just doesn’t allow you the pleasure of channel surfing when you are bored. However I am thinking seriously about cancelling my satelite, and getting basic basic cable just for boredom watching. HMMMM have some thinking to do.
So I watched Knight Rider yesterday along with Life. If you have an Itunes accounts you can download them for free. As well as other new upcomming TV shows and fall premiers.
First I have to say I LOVED Life. I cant wait to see what this season has in store for us. As far as Knight Rider….well that is another story.
I liked the Movie that aired last year. A couple of small issues. But all in all it was a good movie. I felt they had done Knight Rider right with the reimagination or continuation how ever you want to look at it. They didn’t overcheese KITT up. So to my suprise within the first 3 minutes of the new series they did exactly that.
I thought the Nano technology covering Kitts skin to change color’s and all was great. And a little transformation is okay. But the TOTAL body tranformations? Really. Leave that to the real Transformers. If your gonna go that far, give him a Robot body to trasform into, get rid of the new Michael Knight, and send Kitt on his way. All in all it was okay. The cheese factor was little over the top for me. And I am ussually okay with a little bit of Cheese. But it was a bit stupid. The original show didn’t even have that much Cheese.

Well my new baby came in yestarday. I have to say I am in love. Yeah thats right, that is the the severly unpimped new MacPro. Yeah its the smallest one you can get. Only the single processor, with 2gig ram. I did upgrade for the Airport, with the a larger 500gig harddrive. But that was really the only two liberties I took with it. I will upgrade as I can, but for right now it is only puking music to my home theater so I didn’t need much else. I already had a 750gig HD to put in when it got here. So I do have a total of 1.25 Terabytes of space available.
I spent the majority of the day yestarday playing and setting it up. With also trying to figure out the best way to convert all of my lossless wma files over to Applelossless. Well there really is no easy way of doing it. Switch is what I finally ended up trying to do the conversion. It was going to be a two step process. Convert all the wma to .AIFF then use Itunes to import the library and convert to Apple Lossless. That was the plan anyway. The first problem was switch kept tanking on me. But when I did actually get a few songs done and tried the second step, I lost ALL of the tagging and organization. Which means if I continue with this process I am going to have to go back and manually input all those Tags into Itunes. For me that wasn’t very appealling. My second choice is to start ripping my music collection all over agian. This also does not sound all that appealing either.
So I ended up going route number 2. While a pain in the ass. I can reload all my music on my time as I am doing things. Whenever I walk by, pop another cd in and go on about my business. I am sure if I spent enough on differant softwares or spent enough time researching it, I could come up with a good solution. But I honestly didn’t have the time.
Otherwise so far so good. No real complaints everything has been working awsome other than the music debacle which I pretty much expected. I am EXTREMELY happy with my new baby. Thank you Tony! It sounds great hooked up to the theater. Looks good on TV, I am completely thrilled by it. I actually see myself using this one a whole lot more than the PC had before. I can actually load my Office on it. Also it looks like archiving my DVD collection will be REALLY easy. Which on the PC it seemed like a real pain in the ass. Open this program, Rip it, then you need another to archive, then another to watch. Just way to complicated. Imovie does it all from what I have been reading. I haven’t tested yet, so we will see.

I am just tired of hearing all this God mumbo jumbo. HE DOESN’T FUCKING EXIST. NEVER HAS NEVER WILL. Get over it and start thinking people!
Okay so maybe I am spoiled in the fact that I believe I am a fairly good cook, I have friends that are really good cooks, and maybe I am spoiled by the fact that I have actually been to good restaraunts. I was fairly excited to go to a new a place here in town. Ria’s is a new restaraunt, however the family that started has been around for a while, and have been a fair staple in Jefferson City. But I have to say it STANK!
The food was terrible! Between the boiled/grilled steak and or possibly microwaved, the frozen vegatable, terrible service, and high prices for the food you get, I am extremely dissappointed. I could have gotten a better meal at Ruby Tuesdays, Applebees, or Chilli’s and that is not saying much. If I wanted low quality Cysco food, I would have just found the closest Cafeteria. What has happened to food service of late?
When are Restaraunt owners and the chefs at said restaraunts going to realize that with proper food prep, with fresh vegetables, and locally bought fresh meat, that cost and quality will actually improve. And the time spent prepping and cooking frozen quantity bought food is the same. So why wouldn’t you opt for quality and better food? The sad part is they dont open until 4. So what are they doing for the entire day? Nothing that is what.
