Red Paperclip

Okay so this is one of those things that I have to file in the “Should have been my idea” box.

Have you heard about this guy? He decided to start trading items and trading up until he can get a house. What he started with was a Red Paperclip that was traded for a Fish Pen which was traded for a rock type thing, in turn traded for a outdoor grill, well just read his story here. This has got to be the most fabulous idea!!

It is so wonderful I am actually sitting here thinking and considering doing this myself. Hmmm what could I trade…Tell you what I will trade my…Season 1 Transformers DVD set. Hows that. Lets see what sort of trades I can get from that. Now the rules are, you cannot offer money, it must be a tangible item. And I will accept offers until May 17, 2006

This is going to be so much fun!!

Love Spring!!

You just gotta love spring!! The nice warm weather with the cool breeze. Love it!! It just begs you to come outside and have fun. So that is what I am doing. I just got a new toy. I have been thinking about Mountian Biking for a long time now. So I finally followed through with it. I just ordered a new bike. And I am very excited about hitting the missouri trails in the evenings and weekends and getting a good workout. I have been missing the outdoors of late. In the last 4 yours I have gained SOOO much weight. And I just have to get it gone. I am tired of being this large and being tired.

Before I moved to Kansas City I had lost a lot weight. I worked extremely hard to get rid of it and I was very proud of myself. Those of you that knew me back in highschool will remember that I have always been a large person, but when I lost the weight the first time I felt so good. I looked good and I had energy to do fun things. I miss that. I am married now, but I also enjoyed the attention that I recieved from the opposite sex. To walk down the street and have women whistle at me, or take a double take was awsome. I loved it. I never took advantage of it as I was dating my wife at the time, but it just felt good and gave me a lot of self confidence I had never had before. I want that back. So my plan of action is eating good agian. And getting exercise.

I am just so excited. I have been dreaming about getting back to riding for years now. I didn’t do it before comming to Kansas City, as I didn’t think there was anywhere to ride and I didn’t have anybody to ride with. But I have a couple of friends now that ride. And I look forward to spending some time with them and riding.

So some of you are asking what bike I bought. Well here it is…Gary Fisher…I spent the last two days traveling from one shop to the next to find the perfect bike. I sat and rode so many bikes that I actually got confused as to what I was looking at. What I wanted was a entry level Mountain Bike, I didn’t want to spend thousands of dollers as I found is VERY easy to spend on a good bike. But I didn’t want to get a Walmart Special either. I wanted quality and a bike that can easily carry my frame with out braking, I also wanted a very light bike. No steel frames for me. If I could have gotten a Carbon frame I would have, but I got an Aluminum framed bike. Total I think it weights about 26 lbs. I looked at Giant, Specialized, Trek, Gary Fisher. As those are the bikes that are available here in Kansas City. I couldn’t find a Cannondale or Jamis dealer.

So anyways I am excited have already found several trails in the northland here I can ride and plan on riding as soon as I get my mount.

Updates on everything else. The house still hasn’t sold. We are starting to get a bit impatient but I am still confident it will sell. We are anxious as ever to get back to Jefferson City. And I have a job interview monday in Columbia with a company that installs handicapped modification in Automobiles for handicapped poeple. So I am excited over that. We are still buying the sign shop. But until everything is finalized there and it is actually supporting the both of us, I will need another full time job to make ends meet.

Well thats all for now.
