Well to continue on Dr Who. It was AWESOME!!! I had to wait until last night to watch it. I was back in Jefferson City looking at houses for the weekend. But I have to say, it was great. The new doctor is no Tom Baker, but it has been almost twenty years since Tom was the good doctor. I think this new doctor will be “Fantastic!” I am glad to see they are going to revisit the history of the doctor a bit. But from what I gather, is this season has already been shown and released in the UK. I hope that the US gets behind this series and BBC releases the last 40 years of the doctor onto DVD.
anyways, looked at some homes this weekend. You just cant believe what people try to get for some of these places. Or how proud they are of what they really don’t have. I think they think “Just for the reason that they own a house they will be able to get rich.” Sorry people but it doesn’t work that way. If your going to flip house do it RIGHT! Actually fix something and don’t just cover it up.
Nothing else really is new this week. Spring Break ended so back to class. I have a couple of project that I need to start working so I guess I will do that. Nothing really exciting happening until the wife and I get to move back to Jefferson City, in which we are anxiously awaiting. We are finally ready to start our lives and get a move forward. We have been sitting still for four years it feels and that just sucks. Watching all of our friends move their lives in positive directions, and here we are, just there. We cant wait.
Well I have a ton of work to get done.
Okay so I have to elaborate on just how excited I am to see Dr Who has finally made it back to the US. The show used to Air back in the Eighties on your local PBS station, atleast that is where I always saw it. Then for some reason he just disappeared. Dr Who just happens to be possibly the longest running show in world history. It first aired I believe in 1964. Since there has been nine Doctors. My favorite being Tom Baker, believe he was the fourth Doctor. He was definitely the best.
I guess my fascination with Dr Who is like all Sci-Fi it takes you away to another world. But there is almost always real world lessons and morals involved. Another reason is the cool gadgetry that comes from it. I mean honestly with out StarTrek there would be no cell phone. Or hand held almost anything. It took a dreamer to think of something like that. And those are the people that keep this world inventing…the dreamers. There is almost always real science in those shows. Take for instance Stargate. The worm hole theory that is presented in that show. That is actual science people. Now the stargate doesn’t actually exist. But the science behind it does. The fact they incorporate actual human history, legend, religion, and folklore makes it fun too. I mean you cant honestly tell me that not even once in your life you have never toyed with the theory that we have never been visited and quite possibly humans of ancient would have looked at those people or visitors as Gods. I am not going to get into all the Aliens and UFO’s meets the Bible stuff. If you open your brain a little you can see where those theories come from. I am not saying I put stock into any of it. I am saying it is a interesting theory and something that if it was true, would be pretty damn cool.
I got off of my subject a bit about Dr Who, but these are things that Dr Who and other Sci Fi adventures look at and present. To me its fun to imagine the possibilities. It helps open my mind and accept new things. Anyways that is enough for me. For those of you who don’t know who Edgar Cayce is, he is a prophet of sorts. Sorta the Nostradamus of the 20th century. He would perform reading while he was asleep and he did this until he passed away. There are VOLUMES on top of VOLUMES of his recorded readings. Atlantis was just one of his subjects that he spoke about. I have actually been wanting to write about this for a while. I found it incredible. IF even a fraction of what he is saying is true, it would change our world. The wonders he talks about is just fantastic. But if you pay attention you will find things he was talking about in the 40’s that wouldn’t be invented until the 80’s. I have always had the belief that in a lot of technologies and sciences we are just “rediscovering” them. Okay I promise that is the end of this one. I will let you go know.
Wow…okay I really honestly didn’t think I had any readers out there so my motivation to keep this updated was a bit low. Okay so its not like I have fans or anything just friends and family wanting to keep aprised as to what is happening in my life. So with that I decided I better pop off another post.
So what has happened…Well since purchasing my new/used mac we have put our house on the market here is the LINK.
My mother finally put a offer on a house in Jefferson City and it was accepted. So that is cool I guess. For those of you that dont know, and I guess many of you do. My mother and I have never had a “Great” relationship. Just until this last year I could count the amount of times I had seen her in my entire life on one hand. Please don’t think I hate my mother I don’t. I just don’t know her. I hope that with her moving so close to my wife and I, I will be able to get to know her a bit better. While hopefully actually forming a relationship. BUT…Its going to be weird. It has been just my father and I for so long it will be a bit off to have her around so close. Not like she is coming to Christmas dinner or anything, but just having her in town. Possibly running into her at the mall or at Walmart. Very odd. Sorry don’t have much to say on that topic.
I am sad for another reason. Three of my favorite shows are ending their season this week. I know most of you will cry, and this for really for one little lady that gave me such a hard time at work because I am such a geek. Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactiga. I know terrible indeed. HOWEVER!!! For you TRUE DIEHARD SCI-FI fans. There is something comming to your Sci-Fi Channel VERY soon. DR WHO!! Yeah I know I almost cried too. Long are the days since Tom Baker as the Dr. But Hey!! He was the best. I am VERY excited to say the least. And on Spike TV Blade the Series will comming soon also. And don’t forget about the sopranos. OMG I watch to much TV. No I really don’t. I just love my TIVO.
Anyways…Got school in the morning so I better get off here. I am going to try to get back and leave some links and pictures for you folks. I know I am lacking severely in pics. I am going to work on that. I promise.
